Question:

Betreff: CoCut or Casmate Scanvec-Amiable software.. | Name: Ross (rossn@teleport.com) | 07.11.2000 16:01:57

I in the process of purchasing a SummaCut D60 and the supplier feels
that the Casmate Scanvec-Amiable software is my best option. The
big negative, he discribes, is that CoCut with Corel only describes sizes
in pixels (difficult when signs are measured in inches).

I have used the Demo for Casmate and it is not as Windows user friendly as
Corel. But it is difficult to argue with a sales person who seems to know
the machine and software.. Any thoughts on this would be most helpful.

I have used CASEMATE/INSPIRE for 7 yrs and am now using the Corel/CoCut Pro. Casemate/Inspire (and perhaps the new Scanvec-Amiable) has a history of horrible customer support. The Casmate/Inspire programs were terrible for menu boards, directories or anything having a lot of text (3 screen redraws with every change). Also, import filters in the Casemate/Inspire were questionable... you never could be sure what you got was right. And finally, the Casemat/Inspire crashed 3-4 times a day.
I'm not sure how Flexi is... I have it, but am using it for RIPing only.
BTW, Corel now handles full measurements... we make 50 ft banners w/o problems or conversions. Finally, Corel/Cocut is less expensive.
