We have a peer to peer network under Windows 95 with Eurocut 4.0 and 3 plotters Wich proceed to share under Eurocut 4.0 the three plotters because the driver of plotter has not be installed on Windows 95 and this version on Eurocut drive directly the COM ports ? (I have soon see the explanation on the page www.eurosystems.lu/support/eurocu-e.htm and can't give the right answer)
All past answers:
Dear M.Debourdeau, you only can share the plotters, if you assign print queues to the ports, at which the plotters are connected and if you assign these queues to virtual parallel ports (like LPT2, LPT3) on the computer, on which you use EuroCUT. In EuroCUT you choose this LPT ports for the specific plotters as output ports. It is not possible to share serial ports. Best regards Hans Friedrich Holz / Support
Thanks for your answer. But what the solution for use 3 plotters (1 parall and 2 sérial) with 3 PC under windows 95 on peer-to-peer network and EUROCUT 4.0 on each PC s?
Dear M.Debourdeau, Do you have on each workstation a full licence with a dongle for EuroCUT? If yes, why don´t you cut each specific job from each workstation? Like discribed above, you cannot share serial ports in a network. But you can try to use a "generic text" printer driver and define it as connected to COMx, then assign a virtual LPT-port to this queue and use this virtual LPT port in EuroCUT. I didn´t tested a configuration like that but normally it should work ... Best regards Hans Friedrich Holz / Support
