Betreff: Unable To Find Protection Key error message | Name: Suzanne (creative.edge@att.net) | 09.10.2003 05:05:26

I moved recently and unplugged everything, including the dongle, to move my computer equipment. I then reconnected everything and now I cant used Co-cut. I dont remember which of my three ports I had it connected to in the first place, but Ive tried each one and none of them work. I also uninstalled and reinstalled Co-cut and that didnt work either. Any ideas?

CoCut is available with two types of dongle, Parallel and USB, I would assume that yours is the first type and plugs into the printer port (LPT1)on your PC. It must be installed into this port only, usually colour coded on a modern PC - pink/purple colour.

Depending on which version of Windows you are running you may need to run a program called HDD32.EXE which you should find in the HASP folder of your CoCut CD.

Some devices will disable the dongle if they are plugged into it - so while you try to resolve the problem make sure you do not connect any device to it.

You could also check the BIOS settings in your PC to make sure the port is set to SPP.
