Question:

Betreff: Does ver. 13 work with Corel X3? How do we install it in X3 | Name: Ed (ed@sr-signs.com) | 28.02.2006 20:59:13

We have been using Cocut w/ CDR12 and have upgraded to X3. However, CDRX3 did not list the Cocut macro in the Custimization listing. Suggestions?

I have had exactly the same problem after I installed X3. I found that I had to have the old Coreldraw 12 still installed for the macros to show in X3. I enquired with corel.com as to why but they said it may be something to do with CoCut, therefore they couldnt comment. However, I un-installed CoCut and X3 still wont show macros in customization unless Coreldraw 12 is installed. The latest stage I am at is I have Un-installed Coreldraw 12, then re-installed it using custom install, selecting VBS for applications only, and this has worked - the macros show in customization. However I dont think this is a proper solution and I will contact corel.com again asking them to explain why macros only show in X3 if Coreldraw 12 is still installed. Ill post an answer if they come back with one. Good Luck!

Im having the same problem but going from Corel v11 to X3. Both are installed and theres no macro that I can find. CoCut Pro works with v11.

I installed/updated to the latest version of CoCut and attempted to follow along with top result from a search for "X3" in the FAQs. Nothing showed for CoCut Macros. The instructions were a bit off from what I was looking at on screen but I think I was in the right section ("Adjustments"?).

Heres what I found in my search and what I was attempting to describe above:

Download the latest CoCut service release.
Start the installation of the service release and select Modify.
In the next dialog select CoCut for CorelDRAW X3 under CoCut AutoExport and click on next.
After the installation has finished start CorelDRAW X3 and follow this steps to link the CoCut script with the CorelDRAW X3 toolbar:
- Select the menu Tools/Adjustment
- From the left-hand set of options select Workspace/Customize/Command
- Click once in the File box on the right of the list of options, select Macros and drag CoCutProf.CoCut... to the menubar of CorelDRAW X3.
- Click OK in the Options dialog box

I got it working although without the floating icon Im used to and by ignoring the "How-to" posted above. Short description:

Copy the Cocut GMS from C:Program FilesCorelCorel Graphics 11DrawGMS into the same place in X3 (C:Program FilesCorelCorelDRAW Graphics Suite 13DrawGMS).

Instead of clicking on Files in OPTIONS>WORKSPACE>CUSTOMIZATION>COMMANDS click the drop down list and click on MACROS. You should see a file named CoCutProf.CoCut. Click the file and drag it to the Menu Bar in CorelDraw! To make it useful go back to OPTIONS>WORKSPACE>CUSTOMIZATION>COMMAND BARS, click on CoCut in the list and select CAPTION TO RIGHT OF IMAGE in the "Default Button Appearance" menu.

I have no idea if this eliminates the need to leave the previous version of CorelDraw installed or not since I have not uninstalled CorelDraw 11 yet. Come to think of it, I havent actually cut anything yet but the button does select the graphic and open the cut screen when you click it.

Disclaimer: This worked for me. I make no guarantees (real or imagined) that this will work for you. Good Luck.
