Doming entitles a form of print finishing, where non yellowing clear liquid resin is applied with a special application gun on a printed label. The so called Doming (concavity) gives labels a unique 3D effect. The result is a flexible embossed label in noble look.
Especially computer made vinyl letters can be domed in order to reach a representative look. The crystal clear finishing out of polyurethane resin gives a soft permanently elastic sealing.

How Doming Works
Starter Kit
Ready to start with the Kit for only 279 EUR. All you need is a cutter with OPOS sensor and an inkjet printer or large format printer (not pigment). Alternatively you can assign a print service, which can countour cut, in order to produce the decal sheets.

What Does One Dome Cost?
Production of a DIN A4 page with liquid lenses:

One lens is 1.6 x 3.3 cm and allocates an area of 4.15 cm2. On one DIN A4 page fit 75 lenses, which cover an area of 311 cm2. One milliliter resin suffices for an area of ca. 4.15 cm2. One resin cartridge contains 75 ml and costs 13.25 EUR. It suffices for ca. 311 cm2.
One liquid lens costs ca. 0.18 EUR (without printing and vinyl). |
Doming provides each Signmaker with new creative possibilities to ennoble vinyl letters, stickers and labels, whatever printing process was used.

Application Tips:
- Pre drying time: min. 1 hour
- Warm: To ensure correct formation of
each dome and allow the resin to
cure - Optimum temperature is 25°C
- Ready for application after 24 hours
- Clean: To prevent dust contamination of
the finished dome
- Cover the finished sheet of decals with
the next work surface to protect the
domes from dust contamination during
the curing stage

Application Tips:
- Dry: High humidity will adversely effect the
doming process. Make sure that the room is
dry (less than 45% relative humidity) and use
a de-humidifier if necessary
